1. During the film they use a lot of hand-held camera shots which makes the audience feel more involved with the characters which in turn helps to make the film seem more realistic and so more frightening. The film also uses lots of dramatic sound to build up tension when something bad is going to happen, this makes everything feel more tense and again more frightening. The colours used in the mise-en-scene are all very dull; all colours are obviously dark because it is mostly during the night but all the things int he house are also very dully coloured. this works together to reflect the upset feel of the film.
